Name;; Jessare du Tak
Gender;; Female
Age;; 111
Species;; Attilan Dragon
Affinity;; Dream
Clan;; Salom
Occupation/Rank;; Assassin/poisoner, fronting as an alchemist
Appearance;; Jessare is a very small dragon by most standards - she is about three feet at the shoulder, and nearly five feet long including her tail. Some claim that she is badly deformed, which may or may not be true. Certainly the rest of her family, while not large, were not nearly as small as she is. Adding to this possibility is the fact that her wings are tiny and most definitely useless. Jessare generally goes around on all fours.
Her main feature of interest, besides her size, is the fact that her forepaws are not so much talons as they are hands - four fairly useful claws and a pair of oddly long dewclaws. This is well-known as the main feature of the du Tak family, and allows her to perform tasks that most animals are incapable of. This includes various devastating talents, such as writing, the mixture of potions and the like, and the ability to handle small knives and other similar tools.
She is lithe in appearance, long in the neck and tail but short in the body. Her scales are a charcoaly black in color, fading to a darker shade on her wings. Jessare has bright-orange eyes and no eyelids.
Personality;;
Surname/"House";; "du Tak", a surname purchased in the not-too-distant past. Coat of arms; a blue dragon rampant on silver field. Fallen into disuse.
Nickname;; Jess
Birthplace;; Kosov
Current Residence;; Lower Kosov, in a flat over an alchemy shop.
Political Summary;; Jessare supports anyone who is likely to allow her family to come into power again.
History;; Jessare is the only child of Nurome du Tak, the noted alchemist and, apparently, a leader of the Shaz'a crime family. Her father died when she was fairly young, leaving her with the family business(es), a small shop in the Kosov slums, and a few thousand Talcs. Jessare promptly involved herself with an older male dragon, a wizard of some ability, who became her "mate." This dragon, named Alvair, was also a leader of the criminal underbelly of the Empire. The match cemented what was about to become a sticky situation where that was involved, leaving Jessare to study alchemy and murder an assortment of Himaryn nobles.
Alvair died when Jessare was in her fifties. This caused a battle over whether or not she ought to remain part of the Shaz'a. Jessare took it upon herself to fufill a contract on one of her criminal rivals and reported, it's said, to one of the Praetors. This did not make the orginization very happy, and one can't possibly assume that Jessare thought it would do otherwise. They immediately put out a contract on her head.
This does not much worry Jessare, who makes her existence as a healer and a freelance poisoner very public, so that one would notice if she went missing. Contract or not, she's still alive.
These days it's rumored that she's directly involved with the Cruori Clan's stirrings of political rebellion, such as they are. This is probably done more as a way to keep herself from being killed should they succeed, rather than any kind of sympathy for their plight. Either that or she's spying for the empire, which would be dangerous, although not as dangerous as supporting either side..
Tome(s);;
Family Information;; The du Tak family are foreigners from the distant south, who emigrated to Himaryn in the last thousand years or so. They rose to distinction doing what they do best - murder. Some clan leader purchased a coat of arms as a reward for services done to some now-deceased Premier. Lately the du Tak family has been in decline, due to their disastrous support of a failed premier. (Some claim this was the leader that Octavian replaced; whether this is true or not is unknown due to safety reasons.)
