Nashem's Gate

The crest of the Quabri is known as Nashem's Gate, which in old Himaryn, means "Death's Gate." The melodramatic title to the spot is not without reason. The moment one takes their first step into the Quabri icefields is like getting blasted by cold that penetrates the bones like knives. Strong winds blow incessantly on top of the Quabri, often contrary to the direction of intended travel. There are accounts of weak-bodied individuals dying from the shock of the sudden drop in temperature and the bite of sharp winds. It is thus recommended for individuals to acclimate their bodies to Altarspire before crossing Nashem's Gate.
