No New Posts Rishi's Pillars

Higher into the plateau, Rishi's Pillars are situated just before the entrance into the Quabri, which is the great expanse of ice at ceiling of Altarspire. Rishi's Pillars are an ice formation of all sorts of arches, pillars, and unusual shapes formed from the erratic temperatures found just before the entrance of the Quabri—the temperature can fluctuate from many degrees below freezing to disgustingly tepid ice-melting temperatures within an hour, without warning. This unhealthy weather phenomenon is only seen at Rishi's Pillars.

No New Posts Nashem's Gate

The crest of the Quabri is known as Nashem's Gate, which in old Himaryn, means "Death's Gate." The melodramatic title to the spot is not without reason. The moment one takes their first step into the Quabri icefields is like getting blasted by cold that penetrates the bones like knives. Strong winds blow incessantly on top of the Quabri, often contrary to the direction of intended travel. There are accounts of weak-bodied individuals dying from the shock of the sudden drop in temperature and the bite of sharp winds. It is thus recommended for individuals to acclimate their bodies to Altarspire before crossing Nashem's Gate.

No New Posts The Icefields

The Icefields of the Quabri are so high in altitude that it does not even snow. The ice sheets here are permanent, impenetrable, and simply flat without ornamentation. As a result, wind rips viciously across the Quabri unimpeded, and it is impossible for travelers to find shelter as there is nothing to hide behind or burrow under. The trek across the Quabri takes days, so it is absolutely imperative that a traveling team come prepared with fire and wind mages willing to shield the party from the dangerous Quabri winds.

The higher expanse of the Altarspire plateau is known as the White Quabri, and it is famous for its icicle smooth flatness. However, perhaps it is more remembered for its vicious storm-force winds that blow incessantly for days, and the bone-freezing temperatures that cut like knives. It must be crossed by all travelers in order to reach the Beyondlands.
