The Mountain Road A snowy road leads up to the trading post of fort Winterheld, where it winds around many corners to ascend the plateau of Altarspire from Descalze's Pass. The mountain road is a steep trek, and it frequently becomes icy and easy to slip on. Altarspire snow poppies grow along the side of the road in the summer, and during the winter, snowstorms occasionally render the road impassible. |

Odin's Hall High in the mountains leading into Altarspire, the fort of Winterheld is a solitary refuge against the wind and the cold. Odin's Hall is the main wooden building of the settlement, and its heavy oak doors insulate and retain the warm of the giant fireplace within the hall. Long tables can be found within Odin's Hall, sometimes covered with platters of roasted food and traders' mountain furs for sale. It is the place to go if one plans to stockpile a journey into the mountains. |

The Armory If one can find furs and provisions in Odin's Hall, then The Winterheld Armory is the place to go for equipment and survival gear. An ancient badger named Groriar runs the most famous forge in all Himaryn, as his team is reputed to weld any kind of metal into any device or shape imaginable. The smoky bellows of the armory and forge can be seen from miles around. The yard has very large piles of firewood, as metal forging requires large amounts of fuel. |
