The main street of Minetown is lined with all sorts of ramshackle wooden residences, rowdy taverns, and makeshift stores aiming to rob and scam new arrivals with sham products. The road is particularly dusty, since little vegetation covers the area, and windstorms often raise massive clouds of dust. So many ex-felons, mercenary assassins, and other unsavory individuals lurk here, that innocent law-abiding citizens are a rare (and exploited) minority. Essentially, the laws of the Empire cease to exist here.

Theoretically, baseless slavery is generally illegal in civilized Imperial Himaryn. However, for some reason or another, the imperial bureaucracy has turned a blind eye to blatant exploitation of slaves by the Sha'za Crimelords in the metal mines of Quatash. Some sort of informal alliance is said to exist between the Sha'za and the officials of Kosov; metal and salt monopolized by the Sha'za are after all indispensable to the functioning of Himaryn government.

No New Posts Warlog's Lair

The Sha'za Crime Organization is the dominating militant organization in the Minetown periphery. Based in a hidden cave in the Quatash Mountains known as Warlog's Lair, the Sha'za are infamous for their involvement in the slave market, their selling of illegal spices, metals, dangerous spells, and narcotics to those who can afford the price. Their influence over politics is so strong that generally Imperial Himaryn does not dare confront them, as the Sha'za network of spies are renowned for their ability to blackmail and uncover state secrets. Despite all this, the Sha'za is the only organization in Himaryn willing to lend money to virtually anyone in any situation... though it better be paid back with interest!

Minetown Shanty
Due north of the Old Capital, a trail leads to looming shadow of the southern Quatash Mountains, where greedy prospectors have established a rowdy boom-town over the numerous lucrative metal mines drilled into the mountains. The town has a particularly questionable reputation—many ex-criminals and wanted rogues are known to lurk here, eager to accept rather... illegal assignments.
