Her lungs burned, sides hurt, throat was scratching and sides heaved uncontrollably. She kept running, never once looking back. Hooves pounded the earth with ferocity creating a thunderous sound as she galloped even though the desert sand tried to absorb all the sound. Muscles contracted and stretched in rhythm, causing her purple and olive colored skin to create beautiful pictures. Isabella looked much lither than her short legs would have led you to believe. Her extremely long mane whipped in rhythm to her strides, stinging at her neck. Her tail was held high, flowing like cerulean silk and snakes. Upon her face was a mask of lighter olive, etched in deep contrast to her mostly darker colored neck and body. Her legs were short in comparison to her scaled proportions, but grace seemed etched into her very being. She was a flash of beauty as she galloped across the great Alescora Desert, but one look at her face would tell you that something was gravely wrong. Her eyes were wide with fear, something she hadn’t felt in years and filled with anger. She was never one to run. She was a fighter, she was a Vikarean by heart, but something had gone wrong.
//Everything was ruined! Where was Raziel when I most needed him?! Where was he when Renegade cornered me with lust in his eyes?//
A harsh snort erupted from her nares.
//I guess it wasn’t Raziel’s fault. After all, I was the one who insisted he shouldn’t baby sit me all the time. At least I fought off Renegade before he could do any real harm.//
Though her side was still hurting and throbbing pain from the kick he had sent her way, she carried on in search of Raziel, sending sprays of dust up after her hooves. The sun burned above her, clawing at her skin and causing rivulets of sweat to drip from her sides as she ran. Suddenly a sweet innocent voice reached her pricked ears and she skid to a halt, listening, but she couldn’t make sense of the words. Someone was singing a song.
Instantly her head flicked in the direction it came from. The voice came from just over a small hill to her left. Since Renegade was obviously not following her anymore she took a deep breath and trotted up the hill, scenting the air…
