Already she was determining that the world outside of her homeland, outside of her family’s borrow was an exciting place. She had met so many strangers who had all become friends and then there were a few that scared her out of her wits. Those she tried to avoid. She was moving at a brisk trot today, heading in the direction of the Waterhole, a known gathering place for creatures of all shapes and sizes… And then there were the rumors as well, rumors of a fearsome creature that stalked its depths. A smile crept upon her face as she wordlessly accepted the challenge. No monster beast scared her, especially the sort talked about in stories and legends. With purpose in her stride she turned off the path and headed to the waterhole. A moment later she could see the shimmering water but there was another close to its edge, peering down into the water. //So she was familiar with the legends as well. Why else would she be staring?// Kamii thought. She trot all the way to behind the black looking leopard with lighter stripes and announces herself, waiting for the black one to jump at her sudden and unannounced appearance, “Hello there.” She waited a moment, expecting a fright to issue forth and then continued with a smile, “The name’s Kamii Shinto Kitsune. Who are you and why were you staring into the Waterhole?"

Katherine almost took a leap of faith to the other site of the hole. She saw the little plush looking fox standing at her feet. Her pupils dilated with fear, but as soon as she relaxed her eyes relaxed.

"you gave me the biggest fright ever". Katherine said to the little fox.

As she looked down to the fox's little head she saw the most amazing marking on her forehead, wondering where it comes from and what is themeaning behind it all. Remebering the stranger introduced herself she too made a response.

"oh hello, my name is Katherine fortis Curantis Eucharis, but my friends call me Katy. I don't know Kamii this water is funny looking and i just a bit cautious when it comes to water, my younger brohter died close by so, it is kind of traumatic still". Katherine shared her almost secret story with the stranger.

Out of the corner of Katherine's eye she saw something making the water ripple.

is it the beast coming closer to attack, is it an insect trying to survive only Katherine's Ancestors know the answer...

For a moment her pupils dilated in fear and Kamii dipped her little head to the side. //Does she fear me?// Indeed she looked scared beyond her wits but soon she calmed down and Kamii sat down, looking comfortable, trying to show this other feline that she meant no harm. Indeed she was a part of the very large feline group, but she was much bigger than your average cat. "You gave me the biggest fright ever." Kamii nodded her head, shrugging up her shoulders and spoke nonchalantly, “I really had no idea you would be frightened so easily…” The Panther finally introduced herself and Kamii smiled upon hearing her intricate name, "Oh hello, my name is Katherine Fortis Curantis Eucharis, but my friends call me Katy. I don't know Kamii, this water is funny looking and I am just a bit cautious when it comes to water, my younger brother died close by, so it is kind of traumatic still." Instant sympathy filled Kamii and she felt exceptionally guilty that she had given this Katy a fright when she was here bearing such a burden as the death of her brother. Kamii stood up and her expression became a little more somber as she spoke in a softer voice, “I’m very sorry to have disturbed you, Katy. I had no idea that this place reminded you of your brother’s death…” A sudden ripple of movement caught Kamii’s attention and suddenly her gaze shifted to the depths of the water. Indeed a rippled circled from the center of the pool, going out in wide rings. Something had disturbed the water and suddenly fear filled the little fox. //The legends…// “Get away from the edge, Katy!” Just as soon as Kamii said this a monstrous beast burst firth from the depths of the waterhole, throwing its ugly head up high and setting forth a powerful roar. “Katy, watch out!!”

Katherine's ear twitched amd she heard the deep breaths of the beast. She could hear the beast's heart pounding in her eardrums as she turned her head to look, but she also leap out of the way just in the nick of time to see a Giant Crocodile jumping up snapping at her tail trying to catch her and eat her.

"OH MY ...!!!" Katy yelled.

with fangs out, claws ready for action and every muscle in Katy's body ready to move as one to give the most precise movement so she can defend herself and the friendly little fox.

Katy hissed at the croc. it snapped a few time, then turned it's large green scaled body toward the little fox, slowly waddeling forward. Katy's eyes turned bright green, her patch on her neck started to tingle and she leaped with the whole of her body onto the croc, claws and fangs all out and ontop of the croc. the croc snapped and tried to bite Katy on it's back, but her lion like paws pressed the beast down, she made a swift move and ended the creature's life. Feeling a bit of guiltbut also a sense of pride.

"are you ok, Kamii?" Katy asked the fox. "nobody messes with anybody while i am around" Katy said feeling proud that she succeed in the kill.

[bg=E3A869][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true] regular, speech, thoughts, other(s) Fear pounded in her ears as Kamii scattered out of the way, never once looking back to see what had come from the water as self preservation pushed her limbs to the limit, driving her further from the water’s edge. She caught a quick glimpse of Katherine and her voice flew to Kamii’s oversized ears in a flash, loud and clear, "OH MY ...!!!" Finally Kamii spun on her hind legs, her will alone forcing her to face the beast that was now snapping at Katherine, distracted from Kamii for the time being. It was the biggest creature she had seen in her life and frankly it scared her out of her wits. Her heart raced and her mind spun round and round. What should she do? One glance at Katy told Kamii that the black leopardess was ready for a fight and Kamii felt ashamed for being such a coward. Adrenaline flooded her system and she was ready to fight alongside her newfound friend, no matter if it would claim her life or not. The crocodile snapped at Katherine a few times and Kamii was about to attack when the beastly creature turned its attention towards her. Fear fought with her courage when suddenly Katherine pounced upon the great beast, teeth and claws bared. Instinct drove Kamii lower to the ground as she cowered within the lengthy grass, watching on in wonder as Katherine dealt a swift blow, silencing the crocodile for good. Kamii’s ears were the first things to perk up and soon her dainty head followed, wide eyes gazing at the strong leopardess before her. "Are you ok, Kamii?" The words barely registered in the little fox’s mind and she absently nodded her head as she stalked closer to the beat that lay lifeless at Katherine’s paws. "Nobody messes with anybody while I am around." Finally finding her voice Kamii thanked her new friend, “You were really really brave. Thank you so much! I don’t know what I would have done if you weren’t here… How could I ever repay you?”

Katy stood there with her heart racing so fast it felt like it was going to fall out of her chest. She looked down on the little fox seeing fear in her eyes. Katy calmed herself and felt how every hair on her body fell. The patch on her neck however started to itch, so she scratched vigorously at it. She sat up straight after the itching calmed.

"no need to repay anything, sweet little fox. A smile on your face is enough for me" Katy said cheerfully.

"as long as you are safe i can be happy, friend" Katy said with a smile.

Katy stood up lapped at the water after knowing that finally it is calm and the beast is slain. Katy picked up her giant paw and with a big swing, send a load of water flying toward the little fox.

She walked closer to her and sat down before her, making herself at home and feeling quite safe in her new friend’s presence. She didn’t know if she could call her a friend yet, but she knew for sure that this was one girl to keep an eye on. Katherine seemed fiercely loyal and equally friendly and a warm glow radiated in Kamii’s heart as she thought about the fact that Katy had slain the crocodile for her. "No need to repay anything, sweet little fox. A smile on your face is enough for me." Kamii nodded with equal cheer and smiled up at the black leopardess. Katy spoke once more and Kamii’s ears perked up to listen, "As long as you are safe I can be happy, friend." //Friend… That’s a word I haven’t heard in a while.// Kamii felt suddenly at home even though she was far away from her family and her home for that matter. Katy stood and went to the water’s edge to get a drink and Kamii followed, asking a question somewhat shyly, “Where did you learn to fight like that?” Instead a wave of water came flying at the fox and a yelp issued forth from her lips as she jumped, trying with all her might to avoid the wave but ended up drenched in anyways. Her ears fell flat against her neck and a moment of silence reigned before the little fox burst out in laughter, heading straight for the water she jumped, pulling her limbs tight against her body and causing yet anther wave as her body hit the water, hoping it would drench Katherine in return…

Katy laughed with the fox, and just enjoyed the sound of laughter ringing through her ears. While laughing Katy didn't notice the wave flying her way and was caugh of guard, soaked like a wet dog. She jumped in after the little fox playfully attacking the little fox and then softly bit her on the ear. Rolling with the fox in the muddy water on the bank. Suddenly dissapearing beneath the water holding her breath, making sure Kamii didn't notice she went under the water. Katy lie there silently waiting for Kamii's reaction.

Katy felt her lungs burn but suddenly the sensation dissapeared and she just lie there waiting.

what will happen next?

This was so much fun. Katy jumped in after Kamii, sending yet another wave cascading over the small fox as she swallowed some and coughed up the water for a small moment. Suddenly Katy was all over her, laughter clear and ringing as the two rolled and played in the mud and shallow waters. At some point Katy ended up with Kamii’s ear in her mouth and Kamii nibbled at her paw in return. Suddenly without notice Katy went under, leaving a baffled Kamii above the water as a cold shiver ran donw her spine, causing her fur to stand on end as her expression became pale, “Katy?” Kamii began feeling the bottom of the lake with her paws. The murky water allowed her no vision of what lay under and for a moment she feared that there might have been another crocodile. //Oh why were we so foolish?// “Why didn’t I check for another croc?! Oh no! I should have known! KATY!!”

Katy suddenly appeared above the water, slowly looking like a dark shadow. Then suddenly pounced Kamii, laughing with a naughty smile on her face.

"did i frighten you?" Katy laughed and just shook the water from her pelt.

She looked at Kamii seeing her big frightened eyes and her golden fur tainted with brown from the mud they just rolled in. She saw every strand of her on Kamii's body stood up.

Katy then wave her paw in front of Kamii's eyes just to get her out of her shock mode, but it doesn't seem to work. Katy sat down in front of Kamii grabbed her and shook her to get her out of the trans.

It cam closer and closer and without a second thought Kamii pounced high into the air with a yelp that resounded far across the land, tucking her tail and scattering out of the shallow water, eyes wide, heart pounding and ears flattened. To Kamii’s surprise Katy appeared out of the water, not at all what she had been expecting. A long sigh of relief poured from the little dainty fox’s lips as Katy laughed in triumph. "Did I frighten you?" Katy shook the water from her pelt and try as Kamii wanted she couldn’t find her voice so she could vigorously deny the claims that Katy had scared the bejeezus out of her. The mud from the pool dripped slowly down her sides, plopping to the ground. Kamii’s fur still stood on end even with the added weight of the mud. //Why can’t I move?// With a start Kamii realized she was frozen. The sudden movement of Katy;s paw before her eyes finally snapped Kamii from her shock but it was the shake Katy gave her that shook her out of the reverie. She pounced on Katy, grabbing a mouth-full of fur between her lips as the two rolled on the banks of the watering hole. Finally coming to a stop Kamii jumped off of Katy and sat beside her, chuckling. “Me? Afraid? NEVER! I walk on the wild side. I laugh in the face of danger…” Kamii bumped Katy playfully and continued, “So are you going to tell me where you learned to kill like that, with one blow?”

Didn't she think i would be a natural fighter from my size and personality? Katy started to shuffle her paws and finally came to a rest and lay down, she then gestured Kamii to sit down so she could tell her story. So my father decided to teach me the skills since i was 3 chantings old, i trained very hard. one day i used was in the forest busy collecting some wood when somebidy snuck up on me (as a fresh fighter i acted in defense) and i almost killed them, ffrom there on i swore to only use it in the time of need, my dad says i was blessed with this patch in my neck when i mastered the skills as a sign of a Kiutso Master, so now everytime i use those skills that patch itches a lot. Some say they have seen it glow in the night and that my eyes turn a golden shade of green, i haven't noticed it before... But that is my story" Katy lay there waiting for Kamii's reaction to her heart's kept secret

She seemed almost surprised that the little fox would ask such a thing and Kamii merely smiled and encouraged her to continue. Her large ears perked upward and a sort of child-like curiosity took hold of her delicate face. Katy shuffled around a bit and then made herself comfortable while lying down. Kamii could feel a story coming on and as Katy started to talk Kamii listened intently. Her story was rich and exciting and Kamii found herself wishing that she knew how to fight properly… Instead Kamii was a merchant, of the lower class some would say, but she enjoyed her work to the fullest. "What an exciting story, Katy!! It really sounds like an adventure.” Kami could no longer sit still and jumped to her feet, pouncing around like a fighter would, with the exception that she looked awkward and out of place where a true warrior would have looked strong and powerful, mighty and agile. Kamii directed her attention at the patch in Katy’s neck and curiosity took her over, “May I see it up close? The patch?”
